Scott - I love your writing. It is twisted and eclectic and suspenseful and hilarious. I make noises when I read your work. People walking past my computer say, "What?" One obvious sign that you are born to write is that you even write about the rejection that came from writing. You love it, don't you? It shows. I'd tell you to stay encouraged and keep going, but, Scott, I think you will be driven to write regardless of encouragement. In another ten years, I cannot wait to see where your writing takes you.
