That's a great idea and feature. I would hope that if the copy is just for the bookmarker, fair use would allow you to do this no matter what content codes are on the page, but (and here's where I can rant on my topic) of course the publisher probably doesn't see it that way. This idea of caching/preserving and using information is so important. It annoys me to read almost every day about the kinds of control that people would like to exert over this process. I have always saved articles of interest to my hard drive so that as a last resort I might be able to find them again for my own reference, but now that I've started using social bookmarking it is so much easier to just tag a page and let it go. I'll probably have a lot better chance of finding it again and making use of it this way. Unless it disappears. I like what you're doing to guard against that. Thanks for visiting and commenting. We took some interest in your thoughts about how content vanishes behind the pay-wall, and wanted to let you know how we're approaching this problem. Ma.gnolia makes a copy of all the text from a bookmarked webpage as soon as we can after the bookmark is added. We respect the codes that content owners can put into their pages to request no caching of content, and we only show the saved copy to the person who bookmarks the webpage. It's not a perfect solution, but it's a nice bit of help as traditional media learns to operate in the more open space of the online world. Hi Scott
